Selong Belanak paradise beach in Lombok

Being known for their famous beaches- Senggigi and Gili Islands which are accessible through fast ferries from Bali, Lombok is now a blooming tourism in Indonesia.

The newly built Airport in Lombok is however brings disadvantages to the location of Senggigi and Gili Islands. Thus, giving more opportunity for development throughout Kuta Lombok and nearby areas.
From Gili Trawangan til Kuta Lombok , we paid a shuttle bus fee 175,000RP per person which provided a boat with non-air-conditioned van within a 5hours ride to our destination.
Along the journey, the feeling of going towards a less develop area tingle our curiosity as such amazing view could be seen from high cliffs throughout the journey.

Gazing at the simple life of the native people which are known as the SASAK villagers, speaking of different language ( far different from Bahasa Indonesia) and also their enthusiasm in welcoming foreigners. We even witnessed a very young girl around the age of 8 to 10 fell off her motorbike from hitting the curb. Having our drivers stop given us the thought he would be helpful , yet instead , he laughed and informed the police nearby that she fell out of playing her handphone.
The arrival to Kuta Lombok was definitely a hard choice to choose of own hotel if there isnt an internet booking made. Drivers were most probably paid by homestays to bring in customers as this area is much scattered compared to Gili Trawangan Island.
And so, we were reluctant to follow what as recommended from the driver and found ourselves a cozy homestay Kuta Bay owned by a lovely married couple with 2 lovely kids. Motorbike rentals was also done through them and it was only 40,000rp per day !! Besides, we never got worried of empty fuel tank or expensive fuels as various homes on the way would sell a bottle of petrol ( tourist price -5,000- 10,000RP).
Most of all, there wont be police around to check the licences for bribery.

Having such freedom to self explore was just amazing as we found one of the most gorgeous beaches we ever seen.
Mawun beach
From Kuta itself, we had to go through a road full of potholes and dirt in order to reach here.
Along this beaches, there are some sasak villagers whom though us some of their language which chicken is known as Manok.
No dead corals or sharp rocks along these beaches, just soft sands and blue greenish water.
The waves here can be strong and less far apart.

After a few minutes ride away, we arrived to Selong Belanak which is just AMAZING!
Yet, one nice Villa which looks like a 5 Star one is situated in the middle of this beach.
However, far end of this beach are farms of buffalos which the farmers would sometimes bring their herds of  buffalos on the beaches which might pollute part of it.

Regardless how, this lagoon is extremely huge and calm as the waves are far apart.
Imagine having such tranquillity by the lying on the beach without worrying that you will be swept off by the waves.

Not far there is also an island which is in triangular shape. Damped soft sands from this beach even gives a gorgeous reflection of the sky above.
An beach paradise for those who enjoy the nature and peacefulness around.

Such expedition throughout parts of Lombok made be realized how beautiful our world is and having such opportunity to explore a land which isn't yet exploit is a hope for it to remain unexploited as such would then remain the true beauty of it.
