The Extraordinary Italian Taste

THE WORLD WEEK OF ITALIAN CUISINE HAS ARRIVED Malysia and I had the  opportunity to indulge in the  EXTRAORDINARY ITALIAN TASTE 2017 !!

The Extraordinary Italian Taste presented the award-winning Star Chef Roberto Dal Seno where he brought a modern interpretation of Italian culinary tradition, the ‘Italian Street Food’ for us all in the heart of the city, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 Who is Chef Roberto ??
Chef Roberto is a professionally-trained Italian Star Chef and Culinary instructor with expertise in authentic Italian cuisine.

In conjunction with The World Week of Italian Cuisine’s second edition, a series of dinner pairings was placed from 20th to 26th November 2017. To highlight the initiative even further, the "The Extraordinary Italian Taste" logo and the #ItalianTaste hashtag was
 used across social media.

The dinner pairings boast three different themes ‘Italian Street food was Glam’ held in Ciccheti di Zenzero, ‘Italian Street Food is Trendy’ held in The Wine Bar @ ONE KL and ‘Italian Street Food is Gourmet’ held in Villa Danieli @ Sheraton Imperial KL.
This unique culinary experience was accompanied by a free flow of wines sponsored by Paolo Lazzaroni and Vinicola Consoli (alcoholic) and Bosca Toselli (non-alcoholic)

Culinary Arts students from Taylor’s University was also involved in this dinner, where they have the opportunity to learn from Chef Roberto. 

 Guests were also treated to watch the "Fifth Element", a short video that evokes the whole Italian ability to transform raw materials, the fruit of the four natural elements into extraordinary products.

This unique culinary experience was organised by the Italian Trade Agency Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with The Embassy of Italy and Italy Malaysia Business Association and was a lovely experience for us media as we were able to dig into delicious italian street food paring with prosecco and etc.

They also had a DJ on board to entertain the guests of the day and our last dessert pairing lemoncello was definitely my favourite drink of all.
Apart from invited medias, this event was open to the public where they can enjoy this as long as they pay for the stated fee.

I must say their appetizers were served unlimitedly with a variety of choices to choose. One of my favourite was their roasted pork neck and the fry sage filled with ricotta chesse &lemon (milanese style). 
As for the main dish mouth watering pork ribs marinated with paprika &mint spiedo style, served with their home made barbeque sauce was my ultimate favourite. 
Dessert, Ammareto, Sambuca and LimonCino. 

I must say apart from the Prosecco, their pairing Consoli Grand Cuvee Spumante Brut, Consoli "saucha" Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc and Consoli "ODO" Cesanese IGP was a very good pairing with the food served. 

This event  The Extraordinary Italian Taste from 20th to 26th November was surely a success with a full house of happy crowds. 

Now, let's do hope they will be doing this event once again next year in Malaysia !!
